Eliza: All Night

I'll love ELIZA forever for two reasons. There are only a handful of songs that I've cried upon first listen -- "Rollerblades" (from her early Eliza Doolittle days) is one of them. The other reason is when I met her during a private showcase at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, I brought a bottle of champagne to the green room and had the most warm welcome. I still remember her thanking me for the "champers" which sounded so cool in her British accent. Admittedly, I'm a little embarrassed thinking about it because I was so enamored by her.

Anyfuckingway, ELIZA is like my little sister whose growth I'm trying to stunt. She's obviously taken sexy pills, right? No doubt staying out too late. Singing these kind sultry soul-pop songs ALL NIGHT in dimly lit smokey lounges. I start to clinch my fists just thinking about my own personal British pop star becoming a woman and being able to take care of herself and I'm here for it but also fine staying in my own delusional mind on this one, too.
