Sinjin Hawke: Onset (KRANE & Alexander Lewis Remix)
Relating to Sinjin Hawke's "Oneset" right now, and on multiple levels. Anyone familiar with Orangetheory Fitness? In a nutshell, it's group workouts based on high intensity interval training blending cardiovascular and strength exercises. In other words, it's the equivalent of staring a heart-attack in the face, and letting it know you may or may not projectile vomit at any given moment. With that said...
True to the song title's definition, KRANE & Alexander Lewis's remix of "Onset" is the beginning of something, but I wouldn't say unpleasant. In fact, there's something Secret Service about it -- as in, make a wrong move and 007 could quite possibly Zipline into the scene, parallel to the song's intensity. Sort of like me in class this morning, although instead of 007 I'm talking -007, and by Zipline I mean Life Line, or better yet, Life Alert.
“We were just listening to his new album, heard Onset, and realized we had to make a version of it. Random stroke of inspiration really… There’s always been this common practice of how remixers go about wanting to remix something- like its a measure of the original artist and their reputation, or how hyped up they are at the moment. I really just wanted to move away from that and hopefully do justice to something I found to be really special and different.”
