Lorde - Green Light (Hotel Garuda Remix)
This remix is every heist movie when the getaway driver is racing down a stoplight-heavy street but their colleague hacks into the traffic control system turning all the lights green. As they pass each, they turn red causing a gridlock -- even a couple cars crash and twirl in the air before plumeting into a ball of fire. Lorde, Hotel Garuda, this remix of "Green Light" and the fans who love it are those green lights. Those who do not, well, they can be escorted you to that ball of fire.
FABRIKATE - Philly (BL'EVE BROWN + John Hamilton Remix)
Beautiful rendition of FABRIKATE's "Philly" by the collective efforts of BL'EVE BROWN and John Hamilton. Someone book me a one-way ticket to paradise so I can sit back, slip my headphones on and forget about telling anyone of my whereabouts. Maybe it's because I'm getting Flight Facilities vibes? Regardless, out of respect to the caliber of this remix, make that ticket first-class and tell the flight attendant to bring me a new coupe of champagne every 20 mins.
Joe Hertz Simple Ft. JONES (Chris McClenney Remix)
Per the song's lyrics, "Don't say things if you don't mean them," I promise to only speak the truth. Simplicity is underrated. 99 out of 100 remixers should be arrested and locked in a dungeon. Keeping medieval, Chris McClenney is that 1% that you should raise a turkey leg to. The treatment he's given Joe Hertz's song "Simple" featuring JONES is so good you'll want seconds.
Triana Park - Line (Stan Sax Remix)
Me listening to Stan Sax's remix of Latvian band Triana Park is me playing a pinball machine. Even though I'm not sure what to expect at first, or what's waiting around the corner, I play excitedly hitting buttons, shouting along, shaking everything within a thousand foot radius. When the horn solos start to kick in is when the ball goes rogue. Which is fine because I'm already standing on top of the machine swaying until the glass breaks and forces me back in "Line."
Luna Shadows - Waves (Bronze Whale Remix)
Making waves is just something Bronze Whale does. Whale is in their name, hello. With each release, another significant impression left behind but always rippling full steam ahead. I'm also a fan of Luna Shadows now, another example of what a great remix by a super duper producer team like Bronze Whale does.
