HOAR: Venice of the North

Murder ballad in minor?  So sinister.  Someone call Lester Holt and Keith Morrison because we may have a Dateline episode (or full season!) in the works.  Here to enlighten us with darkness is Belgian trip hop 4-piece HOAR.  If bands like Massive Attack, Atoms for Peace and Deafheaven are your steez, check out "Venice of the North," a seductive, slow-burning debut that will have you pulling out your figurative pens and heading towards their fan club to sign up.

Venice of the North is a murder ballad about an unreconcilable love and the desperation that comes with it. We approached it in an eclectic way, trying to create something dark, mysterious and build up slowly as the narrator lures his love into death, before taking his own life.
