Cailin Russo: September Rose
Am I sitting at my desk listening to Cailin Russo's debut through my laptop and Bose speakers, or am I sprawled out on a shag carpet rug next to a record player and stacks of vinyl? What year is it again? If this were a dinner party, I'd have to recommended my guests wear cleated wading boots to transverse this treacherous sea of "September Rose."
As the daughter of punk band Unwritten Law frontman Scott Russo, it's only natural the LA-based 22-year old has the music business in her blood. From this powerful step into musical prominence alone, I wouldn't be too quick to categorize her. With not-so-subtle hues of jazz, pop and soul, I'm sensing Cailin has a lot more to say and ground to cover.
