Talos: Odyssey
Over the last couple weeks, it's been raining bobcats and St. Bernards here in Los Angeles. We're talking flash floods, houses tumbling down the Hollywood Hills, and strong winds determined to flip every umbrella inside out. Then, yesterday, the clouds, lightning, rain, all agreed to take a timeout to let a double rainbow fill up the sky. Can you guess which song was playing when I first these colorful arches stretching across the atmosphere? That would be none other than "Odyssey," a romantic slice of electronic pop by Irish producer Talos.
“In any endeavor we find ourselves at that point of doubt. Those moments where you question yourself. That’s what the line, ‘In this odyssey, it’s hard to leave…’ refers to. It’s a beautiful and testing cycle. I was asking myself some pretty big questions. Am I doing the right thing? Is this worth it? Am I deluding myself?! And I think in the end, the answer is yes to all three. These feelings come and go. The thoughts pass. Sometimes the delusions get realized. And we move on.”
