Lana Del Rey: Love (Music Video)

"Love" is the first track to be taken from Lana Del Rey's forthcoming album, which is due out later this year. The album is a body of work created by Lana and her longtime producer and collaborator Rick Nowels and is also set to include some exciting guest featured artists, to be revealed soon.

I made my first 4 albums for me, but this one is for my fans and about where I hope we are all headed
— Lana Del Rey

In June of 2012, I covered Lana Del Rey's performance at the famous El Rey Theatre for Grammy.com.  The stage was transformed into what I imagine the Gardens of Versailles labyrinth must have looked in the 17th century: manicured hedges across the brim of the stage, with spiraled topiaries and gardenia trees framing a microphone stand positioned front and center. Accompanying the lush landscape was a pianist, three violinists and a cellist, all dressed in white as they rested under palm fronds. The usual back curtain was replaced by a screen projecting a firework show of imagery, most notably an imprint of the artist's name as she took the stage, resulting in an uproar from the crowd.

The reason why I'm referencing this date is because during that show was the first time I told my boyfriend -- now of 5 years -- that I loved him.  I just leaned right in, and laid it on him.  There's no debate, Del Rey sounds like she has endured a lifetime of living, with a voice worn down to perfection complimenting the smoky, shimmering glare emanating from her eyes as she serves up compelling, scintillating performances.  And I know I'm merely one guy, with one story thankful for Lana's music and influence, but she's a forever cupid to me.
