Fried Egg, I'm In Love

Fried Egg Im In Love It’s Fried Egg Friday! Every week, our inbox gets hit with over 2,000 submissions and, believe it or not, about 15% of those are actually pretty incredible. Unfortunately, we only average about 30 posts a week, so for you mathematicians that’s about 270 that fall through the cracks! Okay, no more word problems, and only music solutions from here on out. The following tracks we just couldn’t let slip through our hands without mention.

Feint - Words (feat. Laura Brehm)

If you ask me 10, 20, 30 years from now what my favorite genre is, I will quickly tell you Drum N Bass. Do not make me pull out a pair of JNCO pants and trap you in one of their pant legs to prove it to you. So my hat's off to Monstercat, Feint and Laura Brehm for delivering something I'm so appreciative of - I'm having a hard time putting said appreciation into "Words."

Azura. - Midnight

A heartfelt confessional. A private journal entry. A slow-motion montage. All these that come to mind when listening to Brisbane artist Azura and her new song, "Midnight." While the song is said to encompass "the aching emotions of late night journeys home grappling with unrequited love," I think I see it in complete opposite. 12PM is the best part of every day and this haunting lullaby serves as the gatekeeper to great things on both sides.

Enzo Bennet x Will Gittens - Trap Queen

This track is probably cooler than I am but whatever. I'm gonna hang here until I'm asked to leave, and at that point I'll probably kick and scream so you'll probably just want to leave me be. Admittedly, I wasn't too familiar with the song. "Trap Queen" is a misleading title. I was expecting a wannabe EDM version of Nicki Minaj with "sick" drops. But alas, I'm now a fan of Will Gittens for the original, and Enzo Bennet for gitten his remix on. It's equal parts smooth and sharp around the edges like a flawless diamond fit for a real queen.

🍳

elkkle - Don't Look Down

When someone tells me "don't look down" obviously the first fucking thing I'm going to do is look down. Well, second after screaming "What? Why?" So elkkle, Melbourne's latest buzzworthy producer already has me conflicted. I'd say after listening to his song "Don't Look Down" I feel more floaty than I do pulled one way or another. And at the same time, and in line with the song's message: fearlessly moving forward.

🍳

Destructo - Techno (Dr. Fresch Remix)

I'm not going to say I saved the best for last (unless Destructo or Dr. Fresch are asking) but..."Techno" is this post's climax and Fade To Black combo. These days, I wouldn't even know how to describe the million sub genres of dance music. It's like a cluttered desktop screen and saying "fuck it" while dragging everything into a new folder while exhaling. But what I do know is that whatever genre Dr. Fresch is is the genre I'm listening to.
