[PREMIERE] Fjord: I Get It Now
With stark guitars and a feeling of fragile transience, Fjord takes us on a haunting journey. The Canadian duo, made up of Thomas Jackson Casault and Louis-Étienne Santais, build luscious electro beats behind organic soundscapes and a poignant male vocal. Building on their previous work, which includes a Hype Machine #1 as well as 2 million streams, these two Quebecians are once again pulling at our heartstrings and bring a sense of melancholic nostalgia straight to the forefront. Their blissfully groovy tones splice effortlessly with their moving chord structures resulting in a production palette that feels hyper fresh. If you're capable of catching feels, you're not gonna wanna miss "I Get It Now." Trust us.
"We wanted to make a melancholic, yet , intense electro pop song about the ambiguity sometimes present in relationships - love, lust, loss & things left unsaid. The foundation of the song unfolded itself quicker than for any song we had ever made before. We had just gotten back from our shows at M for Montreal, sat down in the studio and recorded random ideas just for fun, for an hour or so. Next morning, it hit us both. We had the main components of the song locked in. We even kept Thomas’ original vocal track from that night, because it captured the essence of the emotion.” - Fjord
