HOLYCHILD: Not Invited (Music Video)
Do not let my casual J.Crew short-sleeve button-down or Sperry boat shoes fool you. I am 100% HOLYCHILD on the inside - I just lack their stylist and knack for nonchalant dance moves. Now that that's clear, the indie pop duo have dropped their 'America Oil Lamb' EP just in time to give July 4th a run for its fireworks display featuring the talents of Kate Nash, RAC, Tkay Maidza, MS MR, Kitten and Mereki (pictured above).
Of the EP, singer Liz Nistico said, "America Oil Lamb has one foot in the world of our first album, and the other in the future album world of HOLYCHILD. We’ve been writing and evolving a lot this year so it’s nice to have this body of work as a transition. It's pop and experimental and sarcastic and sad and hopeful. To us, it's not only a representation of where we're at personally, but the world at large. We believe that music listeners are excited to not only be challenged by what they hear, but they're ready to talk about societal issues as well. Whether it’s Donald Trump threatening to build a wall against Mexico or the UK leaving the European Union, we’re in this to challenge such divisive forces and bring us together. It's an inspiring time to be an artist and we feel honored to have this conversation."
The EP drop comes with the video for “Not Invited” which was shot in Mexico City, and is the second of a 5-part series to be unveiling over the next few months.
