Everybody knows the lyrics and groovy beat to CeCe Peniston’s dance floor heater, “Finally,” even if you did not know the songstress behind it. Her soul-saturated vocals complemented by the disco-pop beat was only meant for the dance floor, but Mr. Belt & Wezol felt Ms. Peniston needed a future house revamp. The Dutch producers have taken “Finally” for an updated spin playing off the original’s funky nature and entirely reworking its backbone. Tinging the original vocals with a bouncing chord progression and a striking bassline, Mr. Belt & Wezol create a ying and yang dynamic between nostalgic and modern dance music.
