From her forthcoming debut album We Slept at Last (due out February 2015), Marika Hackman's "Drown" combines the raw heartache of her first two EPs with a more contemporary animalistic push, new to her style. In her unique heavy-folk genre, driving percussion give the track a pleasantly frantic nature that meshes kindly with the lyrics, together telling the ever-relatable story of a suffocating love. Currently in the middle of her headline UK tour, the soft-spoken yet musically powerful songstress will surely be a name to look out for this upcoming year.
