Rio Rio: Light Parade EP + Audio Interview

I first found out about San Francisco Alternative Dance Rock Band Rio Rio last December when Indie Shuffle named them a band to watch in 2014. I dove head first into their Light Parade EP with the exhilarating blissful dance rock anthem "Bashful & The Brave", which I still have in constant rotation. These guys exude energy and a true love for music, which is displayed in every meticulous note throughout Light Parade. You would have no idea that they met just three years ago through a craigslist add. Every member of the band takes part in writing the songs, and the passion shines through. Other EP highlights include "Antoinette" is a bit slower and more nostalgic, and opening track “Gorilla, Gorilla”.

Rio Rio's live setup is full of energy as well, complete with a time sync'd light show that the drummer coordinated to go perfectly with every beat of the bands exhilarating live show. I'm pleased to bring Rio Rio down for their LA Debut at Blind Date New Music Series, August 20th at The Bootleg in Silverlake/Echo Park. The band is literally taking the day off work and trekking down together in one incredibly cramped car, all for the love of music. If you are in So Cal I highly suggest this show.
