Caleb L'Etoile: Body Water EP

BodyWater964x964-600x600 Indie Dance has always held a sweet spot for multi instrumentalist singer/producer Caleb L'Etoile, who has just released his first EP of original materiel, titled Body Water. Expect a companion EP to this one, later this year. Body Water comes about as an attempt to reconcile his house and indie dance tendencies. The vocals are all Caleb, as is all the music. Inspiration-wise, Caleb was looking for a way to make house that was sort of weird but positive, and these two are a perfect example of that. I played Reservoirs first on the radio last November on We Found New Music, but it's great to have an official release on hand. I instantly fell in love with "Reservoirs" the moment I heard it, as it reminded me of all my favorite LCD Soundsystem songs, but with more of a pop dance quality. Caleb's angsty pop vocals really add to the track, and make it fun to hum along to. The second track on the Body Water EP, "S.A.Y.", is equally great with a similar feel but perhaps more house oriented, as Caleb unleashes his dance floor ready hooks and sexy cool vocals to round it all out nicely. We can't wait to see what's next from Caleb as he's clearly been plotting his attack for quite some time. Until then check out Body Water and be sure to add these tracks to your Summer Dance Party playlist.
