Max and the Moon: Crazy
Most of the time, more is just more, but in this case, more impossibly blends into an incredible and original sound that rocks the "Crazy"-titled debut EP of Max and the Moon, set to drop in February 25th. Apparent in the lyric video below, Banksy is not one of the four fellas that make up this exciting indie-rock band. That said, trade in the spray cans for a guitar, piano, bass and drum set and you get something of unusual talent without the mysterious.
Emerging out of the combustive indie music scene of southern California in 2013, Max and the Moon and their relentless gig playing have created a buzz that rides on its own frequency. The four piece band continue perfecting their sound into what has become a collection of saluted indie-rock gems that are as catchy as they are clever and sonically arresting.
With driving rhythms, strong guitar licks, steady piano and punctuated vocal harmonies, Max and the Moon push their genre in new directions. Drawing from a variety of influences, the band's familiar, yet intrinsically unique sound resembles the classic harmonies of the Beach Boys and early Coldplay to the catchy dance beats of Passion Pit. A moody, dynamic indie rock band, these four gents showcase tight musicianship complemented by razor-sharp writing capabilities with both sophistication and urgency.
"Crazy" fundamentally just rocks hard and feels good.
