Night Panther: Queen Bitch

Night Panther’s latest release has me tripping over piano keys and falling head over heels.Funny that love is the first thing that comes to mind.  “Queen Bitch” is a punchy, fun, anti-love song that made me burst out laughing- it’s beautiful, poignant and honest. I laughed because such candidness about relationship failure and loneliness is usually wrapped with a ribbon of despair and a bow of "this is really complicated." There isn’t martyrdom in the lyrics, just an understanding that the truth is better than denial (and that truth is best expressed through pop music). The juxtaposition between such a poppy melody and biting words is a combination not to be ignored.

I can’t help but imagine the duo at the same piano in matching suits while crooning into the microphone with whiskey in their glasses.
