Roosevelt: Elliot

Greco Roman has proven themselves to be some of the most important tastemakers in the electronic music. The London based label fronted by Joe Goddard, Alexander Waldron, and Dom Mentsh is responsible for breaking such groups as Disclosure, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Hackman, and Drums of Death. With no shortage of upcoming talent either, the label continues to put out acts that push the envelope while having an easy ear for melody. Hot on the heels of their compilation We Dance In The Dark Because We Make Colorful Music comes the debut EP from the new electronic pop genius of Roosevelt.

The Eliott EP is his first batch of original material since last years Sea/Soliel single. It sounds like a hazed out daydream, with cascading synths fading out into trails of reverb, big bass lines that borrow equally from disco and house, and a pop sensibility that fits somewhere between Ride's Vapour Trail and Hot Chip. The ep features two previously released songs (Sea and Around You) as well as two new ones, and we couldn't be happier about it. The only downside is there's only 2 new songs as opposed to 12, but that just means you'll have to listen to the whole ep obsessively on repeat until Roosevelt graces us with more magic.
