NEW FRND. NEW FRND. RED ALERT. We’re hype. On his latest, ‘100 Faces’, FRND  uses staggered blips, and pitter pattern rhythms keep us right in the groove. With swirling pop-punk soaked melody, he weaves topline through trap hi hats and syncopation into a momentous major key 808 post chorus. If there’s a song that is concise enough for top 40, but still has the heart to keep it real look no further than FRND’s ‘100 Faces’. Lockstep grooves, plenty of ear candy, and lyrics that color our aural passage juicy twists and turns. Don’t sleep on it FRND.

100 Faces is about a person turning into someone you don’t know. They hide who they actually are and present this “perfect” persona to you then you realize they have many toxic flaws. As you pull back the layers you realize they aren’t someone you want to be around.

I rented a cabin in Big Bear Lake for a weekend and brought my computer and microphone. I found myself thinking about the end of a past relationship and what that person was like now. I wrote the song surrounded by wilderness which allowed me to be alone with my thoughts (which is usually a scary place lol) but ended up making a song I really connect with.
