Saya: The Moon

There's something about Toronto-based singer Saya that makes me want to write an out-of-office reply and head Rodeo Drive to max out all my credit cards. Like "I see you Gucci shoes. I'm here to take you home." In any case, I'm holding it together (currently barefoot) still pretending I'm as bad ass as Saya, listening to her latest single "The Moon" which is part of her forthcoming 'Sugar Coated' EP, out next week.

I wrote ‘The Moon’ in 2016 during a big writing trip in London, UK. In the song I’m riding my own wave of happiness and freedom, on my own time, and in my own world. I was at a point where I was letting go of residual anger from my past and moving forward. Moments of peace only come once and a while for me so I’m happy I could translate that into a song.
