Right away, the beat of Benji Lewis's "Us Again" is giving me remixed Alice in Wonderland vibes, specifically the sassy bouquet of Spring flowers. I may or may not just pretend it's an encore to their "All In The Golden Afternoon" performance while I'm basking in the sun with a pocket full of Alice's happy pills.
Co-produced by Golden Vessel, Benji's long-time friend, the two were able to wrangle the complicated feelings that come with love into song from through airy productions and emotive storytelling. Although, we're told that when Benji finished writing this song, he wasn’t in the same place emotionally as he was at the start. I guess that's just the way love goes.
“The song is about wanting to be in the same space as the other person, breathing in the same air, being able to look into their eyes, and have them look at you in the same way. It’s about wanting to have that again, and feel all of things that come just from being around them.”
