Hope Tala: Blue

I haven't taken this many breaths of fresh air within two minutes and forty-one seconds in a while. Hope Tala, a 20 year old singer-songwriter from London comes into prominence with "Blue," a song that exhibits mournful, soft melodies laced with nostalgia and unique lyricism and sound that encapsulates aspects of neo-soul, rap and lyric poetry.

Speaking on "Blue", Hope Tala states:

“In ‘Blue,’ I wanted the subject matter - the haunting nature of unrequited love - to really manifest itself in the listener’s head through a combination of metaphor in the lyrics and stripped back production in the music.”
