Jesse Saint John: Fake It

Stepping back into prominence -- always in a florescent fashion -- is my future BFF Jesse Saint John with his sophomore single, "Fake It." If you're unfamiliar with JSJ, he's the equivalent to Cher in Clueless, but without the being clueless part. His energy is infectious, the people he surrounds himself with reflect the same and, frankly, if this were election day at Beverly Hills High, I'd vote him school president because he's popular at the top of the school's pecking scale for the right reasons.  His writing credits alone give him AMEX Centurion-level street cred but it's his solo bow that has us checking our heart rate. His formula? Throw a lock of his hair into a caldron and stir in the following ingredients: a studded leather jacket, a SSL mixing console, the entire Make Up Forever line, a Polaroid camera, a box of crayons, and maybe a couple Christian Siriano gowns from this year's Met Gala for good measure, and you've got a "Fake It"-style potion with punching power. Feel it, below.

‘Fake It’ continues the themes that I explore in my work of yearning for something more and searching for depth in a generation of shallow connections and instant gratification. Sonically I’m super inspired by fusing pop and bloghaus. It’s important to keep dancing while asking the tough universal questions. If you stop dancing life gets sad.
