Jinka: Countdown Forever
Is "Countdown Forever" me between desserts or Jinka's latest single? Honestly, this is my new anthem for when I'm stuck in a jam I temporarily can't get out of. I can just curl up with a pair of headphones and defy any odds. Luckily, there's lots to soak up here: kaleidoscopic synths, pillowed vocals, pop structure...the list goes on and checks off all the right boxes. This is the 4th hook-laden single from the Transylvanian producer, so pair that with 1 thumb up and you got yourself a musical high-five.
“Countdown Forever is about an illusional state of infinite hedonistic experience. The title is paradoxical. But just because something is paradoxical it doesn’t mean you can’t explore the idea of it. I think, what I generally do when I’m writing is that I try to take a different perspective on the mundane, dip crude reality into some sort of surreal glossing, romanticize it without smoothening the contours.”
