If the ladies of HAIM took a Friday afternoon drive through the upside-down of Stranger Things, "Flashback" from Nashville-based trio BIEN would undoubtedly be the soundtrack. A slick percussive backbeat mixes with a pulsing synth-laden sense of uncertainty and the longing vocals of KKS favorite, Jessie Early, who, with the collaborative force of Tim and Angela Lauer has quickly churned out several sound bites of pop goodness in recent months. While we wish we could flash forward and hear what Bien is cooking up next, we'll settle for flashing back and listening to this song again and again...
“We had this idea to write a song called “Flashback.” There are those moments when out of nowhere you’re hit with all of the emotions, feelings, and memories that remind you of a person or time in your life. There’s always those people that you just can’t shake. ‘Flashback’ to us was always that sensory-overload of emotion.”
