[PREMIERE] Pomona Dream: Tropicana

I was at my parents house going through old photo albums of my mom and grandmother, and I stumbled across an album of them in Rio de Janeiro in the mid 80s. In that moment I felt I was there with them, and I had to write this song about it.
— Sandra Bang

I love this song.

I cannot think of a better way to kick kick tear into the long weekend than with "Tropicana," the latest from Swedish duo Pomona Dream -- comprised of singer/composer Sandra Bang and producer Ribbs.

You can tell that girl from Ipanema, there's a new BOSSa nova in town and with a peculiar deliciousness of their own; one that's psychedelic, synth laced, and slathered in sunscreen.  It's no wonder that Rio de Janeiro is known as the “cidade maravilhosa,” or marvelous city, not just because of its dazzling landscape, but because of its history and the inspiration it gives artists like Pomona Dream.

If you haven't already pushed "play," ready yourself.  Or should I say, ready your passport.  You're about to earn one memorable stamp.  With its jazzy, summertime groove, “Tropicana” -- out via Mango Disco Records -- will have you racing to put up your "out of office" reply.
