[PREMIERE] Amanda Fondell: Count on You

If you’re wondering what a sublime mashup of genres sounds like, look no further than Amanda Fondell. The Stockholm-based singer blends together trap influences, elements of future, and straight ahead pop to bring us a head bobbing masterpiece. Propped up by exquisite songwriting and tied together neat and tidy with Amanda’s addictive half-talking vocal technique, "Count On You" isn’t a tune to miss. With anthemic musicality and poignant lyrics, we’re popping this on our Spotify playlist and brooding all weekend long.

The song was created in 2015, and was written in my apartment. I found myself in a situation where I felt I couldn’t live my artistic vision all the way through. I thought I could depend on the people around me to help protect my creativity and foster its development, but after continuously counting on them to do so… they let me down. A year later, I flew to LA to work with Robin Grubert; he and Anton Göransson made the sound complete. The sampled guitar sound reflects the light against the heavy bass sound. That is the feeling I wanted to create.
