Coachella Q&A: Red Axes

Two friends, machines, psychedelia, potions, and an unconditional passion for music, sound and motion.  We're talking about the eclectic Israeli dance duo of Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi, better known as Red Axes.  Their music itself is like riding a roller coaster: slow grooving passages can shift on a dime into fast thrill-ride riffs. There's an exhilarating freedom of movement within each song and unpredictability between sounds.

We had the opportunity to host a Q&A with Red Axes leading up to their performance at this year's Coachella Music Festival where we covered everything from what's in their travel survival bag, which fellow-performer they're most excited to see and more!

When the Coachella lineup was announced, what's the best reaction you received from a fan, friend, or family member?

Bibi called and said we should put him us one

Are you a Coachella newbie? If so, what are you most excited or most nervous about? If you're a veteran, what's the one story that encapsulates your most memorable Coachella experience? 

First time for us at coachella, very nervous and excited to hear about Beyonce’s pregnancy.

What's in your Coachella survival bag and does that bag include any extra special add-ons for your set that we can look forward to? 

We have in our bag magical mystical musical weapons and some shaman medicines.

9AM: party

11AM: dinner

1PM: tennis match

3PM: sleep

5PM: set

7PM: bowling

9PM: reading a book with tea

11PM: backgammon tournament
