Coachella Q&A: ELI & FUR

If infectious melodies with deep, driving bass lines topped with distinguished brooding vocals are your thing, then you're already familiar with London duo Eli & Fur.  For me, there are artists that I give a resounding "I will be there" and commit to seeing and others I'll "try my best." These girls get the former from me come rain, shine, dust storm, you name it.

Leading to Eli & Fur's performance this Saturday afternoon (in my second home: the Sahara Tent!!) I had the opportunity to talk with the duo to cover everything from what's in their desert survival bag, to which fellow performers they're most excited to see and more! Check it out:

When the Coachella lineup was announced, what's the best reaction you received from a fan, friend, or family member?

Eli: Probably my little brother, he was super proud and excited.

Are you a Coachella newbie? If so, what are you most excited or most nervous about? If you're a veteran, what's the one story that encapsulates your most memorable Coachella experience?

We went to Coachella for the first time about 5 years ago, we hadn't been djing for that long but we were so excited about the project, we said to each other that one day we would play Coachella so in that sense it's really special to us, a personal achievement and we feel very lucky to be a part of it.

What's in your Coachella survival bag and does that bag include any extra special add-ons for your set that we can look forward to?

Coachella is one of those festivals where you really just don't need a survival bag, it's so clean and well organised, you can get nice food, the suns always out, there's something for everyone, so in that sense we feel pretty free wondering around with nothing!

Describe how you envision the day of your performance to go:

We hate planning so apart from making sure we are at our set we would hope it would go something like:

9AM: still sleeping
11AM: get up, get ready, head to the stage
1PM:Djing
3PM: eat/dj some more
5PM: wander around, cocktails, sun and more music, probably more food
7PM: more of the same, perhaps a relaxing sunset Ferris wheel ride
9PM: Solomon in the Yuma tent
11PM: Probably still in the Yuma tent, then to an after party.

If you could have any celebrity front row during your show who would it be?

Vince Vaughn

Out of all of your fellow Coachella artists performing, whose show are you most looking forward to watching?

Stormzy and Bonobo

What was the last song you listened to on repeat?

Palms Trax - Sumo Acid Crew

If you could partner with any brand, who would it be and why?

Puma would be a cool one, we love all the collaborations they do with other artists. We are both into fashion and we love sports wear.

Post-Coachella, anything exciting on the horizon we should know about and share with the universe?

The rest of our US tour! We head across to the east coast, playing Dallas, Austin, Philadelphia and finish off in Miami then back for NYC at the end of the month before a crazy summer begins. When we aren't on the road we are always making music so more of that will be coming too!!
