Opening with toy-like pianos and simple as-can-be snaps, SHEARE starts his latest EP (out May 12th) on a fluttering mid-tempo note. Building into buzzing programmed drums, this Brooklyn based songwriter digs deep into his newest, darker sound. Moody tones carve out the edges of this tune while shuffling synthpop production keeps this one locked in & sonically upfront. And while SHEARE sings about the pains of love & loss (recounting that somebody who you just can’t get over) throaty guitars and billowing bass tracks keeps our ears hooked. Don’t miss this one.

Beautiful Dysfunction is about reflecting on a relationship after it’s ended and replaying what transpired over and over again despite it being painful to mentally relive. I sometimes think as a musician sometimes I’m a bit masochistic. I often put my hand on a hot stove 2-3 times before I realize I’ve burned my hand (metaphorically speaking of course).
