EXES: Memorize

exes memorize.jpg

There's something about Allie McDonald's voice that's like adding a scoop of detergent to a dirty load of clothes. Move over Tide...from the agitation in this wash cycle and hot water temperature, there's nothing quite like it that cleanses down to the soul. Pretty sure (entirely sure) I'm the dirty load of clothes and agitated washing machine in this scenario, a champion at running in circles with a drown-in-sth life philosophy. But who cares. There's absolutely no room for delicates here.

I’m a long distance lover. I’m all too familiar with the longing that comes with loving from afar. I wrote memorize with one of my favorite writers, Jome, about a boy I wanted to be next to all the time. I would memorize every moment- the sound of his voice, the way his fingers intertwined with mine. And I would keep those memories close when the distance felt especially heavy.
