[PREMIERE] Thalab: Away

It feels like months ago, but I first wrote about Thalab, a Barcelona-based electronic duo (and cousins!), and their song "2 Sails" about a week ago. That's what happens when you play a song on repeat that many times - the timeline blurs. Something about it felt so familiar but with each twist and turn I was caught me off guard. Well, good news. "Away" is a welcome departure from the predictable formulaic structure that most songs populating the indie electronic genre are producing. It's probably because I'm fresh off the first episode of Westworld but the song would harmonize well with the show's inventiveness. Still ever-present, at the forefront, is the core substance of intricate textures, bold soundscapes, and pulsing rhythms that stick like glue.
