We’ve been a fan of Jesse Marco’s for ages. His unique blend of pop genres fused with the hip-hop of his generation casts a wide net for his fans and music-lovers alike to willfully get tangled in. At a young age of just twenty-two, this NY native has no doubt solidified himself as one of the world’s most sought after bookings, and his celebrity and corporate appearances to residencies spanning from Liv (Miami), 1OAK (Las Vegas), and Chinawhite (London), further prove that Jesse Marco is poised to make even bigger waves in 2016 that you’ll want to grab a surfboard, wax it up, and catch.

We caught up with the talented producer to ask him some questions leading up to his performance at this year’s coveted Neon Carnival, Brent Bolthouse’s exclusive celebrity-driven affair held during the first weekend of the infamous Coachella Music Festival, and covered everything from music to roller coaster rides to his upcoming releases. Here’s how it went down:

1. Rumor has it, you’re releasing a new single this month. Can you share with us all the juicy details? When can we expect to hear it, and where did the inspiration behind the song come from?

Yeah its called Get Ya High, its a weird 100bpm hiphop dancehall Indian sorta thing. I did it maybe 2 years ago and deciding to put it out now because fuck it. The inspiration for the song came from Jai Paul.

2. It’s not a lie to say you’ve remixed some of the greats. Do you have a personal favorite? Is it true we can expect a video coming soon of your Jamie xx remix?

Well i did a little video routine for the jamie xx remix on my drum machine. It's definitely the remix i'm the most proud of.

3. We’ve read that you’ve been on every ride at Disneyland, but have you ridden the Zipper at Neon Carnival?

Nah but i fucks with the bumper cars.

4. Playing as many shows as you do and jet setting to and from gigs, what do you keep in your travel survival bag? Does that bag include any extra special add-ons for your Neon Carnival set this year that we can look forward to? Any peeks into your set that you can share with us?

Advil. Neck Pillow, headphones, leftover spaghetti. probably an extra mophie charger to call the uber. Going to play a lot of rap music.

5. For someone who has graced the stage of so many incredible venues, was there a particular moment along the way when you had to pinch yourself to make sure it wasn’t all a dream? And is there still a venue out there that’s on your bucket list to play?

I def loved playing Rock The Bells with Kid Cudi. That was a great moment for me. i'd love to play Ministry of Sound in London.

6. I’m sure there are many, but who was your all-time favorite pop act growing up? Why were they everything to you? Would you say they were your biggest influence to date? If not, who holds that crown and why?

I mean Michael Jackson probably as a child, he just made you wanna dance. I had the bad single tape. Also wore out my beastie boys tapes and green day tapes. The attitude was everything just gave me a lot of energy. Then like dj premier, jay z, the smiths, the cure, led zeppelin. I would probably say beastie boys or michael hold the crown because i always go back to them when i need that energy.

7. Lastly, the obligatory question of What can we expect from you in the coming months/year ahead? Anything exciting on the horizon we should know about and share with the universe? Do you promise to tell KKS next time you play in LA? Pinky promise?

3 upcoming singles coming up in the coming months - and then a long standing album project that i've been working on for 3 years that will be a surprise. Next time i play in la we'll have a sleepover.
