Geranimo & Mikey: Walk The Dog

A slightly unconventional new Basement Jaxx side project? I'm not sure they were ever conventional but color me rainbow and sign me the hell up. Pull out your Nokia brick phones and warn everyone that Geranimo & Mikey are taking over the streets, hallways, galleries, grocery store aisles, with their the new vogueing anthem called "Walk The Dog."

The story goes like this: Felix from Basement Jaxx met up with Berlin artist Mikey Woodbridge at a gallery opening in London. Mikey, who is a dancer with the Bethnal Green ‘Sink The Pink’ crew, was hanging out with his friend Sancho, a fellow dancer, voguer and art director, who was going around with a wheel-driven toy dog on a leash. Felix loved it and the idea of walking your dog in a vogue style, and suggested that it needs a Walk The Dog theme.

The first thing I said while listening to it was "this is so Rhonda," one of the best diverse clubs here in LA. Lo and behold, I just found out it was first premiered at A Club Called Rhonda - and I was there!
