Mayer Hawthorne: Love Like That
Can you believe I've blogged Mayer Hawthorne over 30 times since 2010? I've seen him perform from intimate settings like LA's Getty Museum and Napa's Uptown Theater for Live in the Vineyard, to full-fledged festival settings like Coachella. In 2012, I was lucky enough to sit down with Mayer and talk all things music, inspiration, and sushi. It was intimidating because our cool factors are on different charts, but when he said he was familiar with KKS and autographed "Boom Boom Bap. Turns the drums up!" for me, ordinary turned extraordinary. Click here to read that article.
Today, the GRAMMY-nominated recording artist announced the release of his fourth full-length record, 'Man About Town.' The title seems fitting as he told be back in 2012 that he's “just trying to party with as many different people from all over the world as [he] can, dancing and having fun." And that's exactly what he continues to do, and thrives at. Furthermore, for this album Mayer "is back to handling the lion’s share of production" playing nearly every instrument and penning each lyric. Pulling from his life and observations, his heartache and joy resides on his sleeve, and whether it's groovy, vulnerable or sincere, it's all timeless, soulful, baby-making music.
"Love Like That" is the first single off 'Man About Town' which you can stream below. Pre-order the LP, here.
