Must-See Music Videos
New Pharoahs's video for their highly addictive tune "This Changes Everything" is an indie-acid trip version of an old school James Bond movie opening sequence. You know exactly what I'm talking about don't you? The shadows, the wiggly effects, the way sexy ladies disappear into clouds of smoke. Yeah, that's this video. It's fun to watch. It would probably be even more fun to watch if you had a party hat on and some pot brownies on the menu.
The Nick Pes video for "Under the Light" definitely brings a darker edge to the dance track. At first it sort of reminds me of a CrossFitters nightmare. Like suddenly the chains you carry around your neck for "exercise" hold you down and you're forced to just work out forever. Actually, maybe that's a CrossFitters dream? Anyways, I probably got off on that tangent because Nick Pes is all shirtless and taking care of that body in this video and I was distracted. I reckon there is a deeper meaning behind the chains and the sorrow.
Damn, Adele. Like for real though. She is insane. First of all, she's gorgeous, her hair and makeup are always on point, and she looks fun. I would love to get drunk off wine with Adele. Then she opens her mouth to sing and jaws drop. All other A-List artists should pack up any albums planned for this year because Adele is going to win all the awards and sell all the downloads. This live version of "When We Were Young" is as good as you think it'll be. And the moment you're looking for is around the 4:37 mark.
The video for Empress Of's "Icon" is a leaf peepers dream. I'm talking all the fall foliage colors you could dream of. If you live in LA, this video will make you so happy especially since we don't get the colors and the sound of leaves crunching under our feet. Actually, there is one tree in my neighborhood that changes colors and drops crunchy leaves. I stomp around on them leaves everyday because I'm a child. Anyways, back to the video. This is a pretty, romantic, sun-soaked video montage worth watching. Fin.
