Ebony Bones Feat. Lady Miss Kier: Bread & Circus

Ebony Bones's name is one half Greek for "fruit of the gods" and one half nutritious and does a body good. VOGUE calls her "The British Queen of Afro-Punk," and today I'm calling her on my hello happy line to thank her for this incredibly special Wednesday morning treat. You can read my open letter to Lady Miss Kier from back in 2010, here - the gist of it is that I credit her as the most influential artist in my life and while everyone loves "Groove Is In The Heart," it was Deee-lite's 'Dewdrops In The Garden' album that made me fall heads over heels in love with music. From 1994 to 2010 to today, nothing's changed. Never will there be another Deee-lite. And sure as hell, there will never be another Lady Miss Kier or an artist that can make my smile as big as the Brooklyn Bridge like she can!

So to Ebony Bones, thank you. Why? Because the British singer returns to the spotlight with "Bread & Circus, Pt. 2" and in florescent fashion with Lady Miss Kier in tow. The funky afrobeat single is far from a superficial means of appeasement and isn't being offered as an expedient means of pacifying discontent. Quite the opposite actually - only significant and extravagant entertainment here with two strong female leads at the helm.
