GEMS - Soak

DC dream pop duo, Gems, has been pretty silent since exploding the blogosphere last year, but they've emerged to tease a new record out next month on Carpark. "Soak" is the second single, and it's easily some of their best work yet. The percussion is pummeling and the guitars culling. Paired with the duo's smokey vocals the tracks leaves you floating in a dream state, simultaneously cathartic and reassuring. If the whole record sounds this good, Gems will quickly become one of the hottest acts of the year.
