World, meet Whissell. The Nashville-based songwriter is, as of today, officially off to the races, with her debut tune "Get Free," premiering exclusively on KKS.

Now, we could sit here and run through the typical blog checklist, singing praises with quippy verbage, popping in a link, and calling it a day, but to wrap Whissell up in a concise blog formatted nutshell would be doing her talent a disservice. Really. This gal has hooks as big as the top of the pops, but with a smokey bed of coals heating the musical backdrop beneath. And when you stir together her melodic gift with a sonic palette like this, the result is a slow-simmering, yet red hot down-tempo that you'll spend hours trying to get free from your head.
