Satchmode: Never Gonna Take You Back

Satchmode's explosive, hyperdancey dream pop track "Never Gonna Take You Back" is the perfect marriage of heartbreak and positive EDM vibes. The lyrics are almost a mantra or the sound of someone convincing (or maybe reminding?) themselves that somebody is no good for them, regardless of how much it hurts to move on. But, since that's like a sad, real talk, this is life kind of message it's sung over some super funky disco beats. That retro feeling gives the song a bit of a seedy, disco night fever filter coupled with just enough modern flare. It makes me picture sweat and glitter and last call at a dive bar. I see clouds of cigarette smoke. I smell really potent hairspray. But it all just feels so right.
