M.I.L.K. - Everything You Know

After the success of their debut track released just over a month ago, Copenhagen-based outfit M.I.L.K. are back, and today they're sharing their second track, entitled 'Everything You Know’. Tropical percussion bounces off luscious brass interludes, as Emil Wilk's smooth vocals weave in and out of blissful electronics.

The songwriting of M.I.L.K. harks back to the time of 70s soul pioneers such as Curtis Mayfield and Sly Stone, but most certainly hints at more modern electronic acts such as Jungle, Metronomy, or Blood Orange when it comes to production and overall expression.

Speaking on the new track, M.I.L.K's Emil Wilk said: 'It's a galactic love song about the kind of love that's bigger than earthy things like time and distance. Love that will survive all the things that are disappearing as time goes by. "Everything you know will disappear // even every second, minute, year // but when they are gone I'll still be here." Sonically it's inspired by the mixed feelings of falling in love. When you feel the ecstasy and meloncholy at the same time, because you know it's all going to disappear one day.’

An intriguing concoction of tropical production, swaying percussion, and sumptuous melodies, this is the start of something special. With an EP planned for release Autumn-time, and gig plans already in motion - you can expect to be hearing a lot more from M.I.L.K. over the new few months. Stream ‘Everything You Know’, below.
