NEKOKAT: Gimme A Break

Simple science will teach you that there are three necessary elements (heat, fuel, and oxygen) a fire needs to ignite. Same could be said regarding NEKOKAT and it's unique cast of players. Combine The Ready Set's Jordan W who is definitely not at a lack of heat, with Cameron Walker, longtime collaborator and potent source of fuel for The Ready Set and The Summer Set's Jess Bowen who is obviously hiding an oxygen tank somewhere - how else could she play drums so effortlessly? - and it's safe to say we are amidst an undeniable fire triangle. Smokey the Bear is about to have a fucking panic attack because these kids are fire!

"Gimme A Break" is a slight departure from the other projects these young musicians are a part of, but the impact of talent is still ever-present. Think trading Warp Tour for Cochella's outdoor stage, a beer to a more tropical-tinged cocktail, or Converse shoes for...well, Converse shoes still totally work. Bottom line, it's all fun in the sun and it comes at a perfect time before I peace out to Saint Martin for two weeks starting on Friday. But don't fret, as long as I have a wifi connection I'll still be plugged in and vetting the perfect Summer playlist additions, just like this one.
