The Voice to Your Sadness: Alo Lee Releases Debut EP “Twice Burned”
Progressive and experimental R&B is definitely on the rise with artists like FKA Twigs, Tinashe - what London via Wyoming artist Alo Lee brings to the table with her debut EP Twice Burned is a darker twist on the genre where she offers "a voice to your sadness". Confident and lyrically astute, Alo Lee's depth and vocal tendencies have heralded fan comparisons to Frank Ocean and Aaliyah - the difference being the entire EP was produced remotely with collaborators on Soundcloud proving that the rise in bedroom artists are now viably competing with major industry players.
Alo has already clocked up close to 200k listens on Soundcloud across her original content and viral covers such as Rihanna's “BBHMM.” It's a new sonic universe and we're keen to hear more. Highlights of the EP include “Snake,” “Electric Blue” and collaboration with LA-based Lox Chatterbox, “Bad.”
“Snake” particularly stands out with a dark and experimental production from Soundfauna (who plays every instrument featured on the track himself).
