Art rock duo of Verona have been on quite a roll lately, releasing a new song every month this year. Their latest release, In The Places Between, does not disappoint. The song retains some of the dark and smoky elements of their debut opus, The White Apple, while pushing the envelope even further. Lead singer, Mandi Perkins, once again proves she is one of the best young lyricists out there as her ethereal voice and poetic lyrics float perfectly in and out of the hypnotic production of the song. As Perkins' sings, “we were bright precious things love/ but you know those things, they fade so fast," you can hear the bittersweet beauty that comes from realizing you can never go back.
