Justin Jay Announces Debut EP On Pets Recordings, Unveils First Single

justin jay Most college students wait until they receive their degree to pursue their future career aspirations, but Justin Jay has been working towards his passion since before he graduated high school. As a staple on the premier Dirtybird roster, Justin Jay has evolved his career far beyond what was expected, and he now adds another notch to his belt with the announcement of his 3-track EP, Momentum, that will be released on March 16th via Pets Recordings. The first song to surface off the EP, "You Give Me Butterflies," exerts an unexpected combination of puppy love and summertime beach outings. JJ deviates from his more recent, ominous sound to showcase a more playful side to his sophisticated production skills. Here's what the SoCal musician had to say about the track:

As I'm finishing up an incredible last year of college, and getting to do all of these amazing things in music, it's felt natural making happy, lighthearted songs that really capture my mood these days. I've spent a large part of the last year exploring darker sounds and textures. I definitely want to continue experimenting in that direction, but I wouldn't want to neglect my goofy, cheerful side either. "You Give Me Butterflies" is a carefree day at the beach, spent with your friends, acting like 8 year-olds.
