[PREMIERE] LELAND: 2 ON (Tinashe Cover)

It’s been two months since Billboard premiered the video for Leland’s first single, “AWARE” and we’ve been anxiously awaiting his next release ever since. The wait is over. Leland is back with a vengeance on his slick reinvention of Tinashe’s “2 On”. The understated production allows the vocals to take the spotlight, and Leland’s trademark falsetto is on full display as he weaves throughout the fast-paced lyric. We asked Leland why he chose to cover “2 On” and he stated, “I really just wanted an excuse to say ratchet in a song. To be honest, there’s something special about the writing in “2 On". It’s a sleeper hit. Before you know it you’re singing along and didn’t even realize you were! I’m a huge fan of Tinashe and had the idea for this arrangement when I was putting together my live show.”
