Monarch: Stay

So I happened to run into Ryan Gosling this morning on my usual run for coffee injections and no joke he stopped me right in my tracks and was like, "Hey girl...I was just listening to Monarch's latest release of Stay and as it was playing your face came into my mind and I immediately realized that I needed to find you and never spend another day apart from you." Crazy right?! Like what a psycho, he's totally obsessed with me. Then he's like, " No seriously girl, you have to hear this and you'll understand. Also, I bought you this coffee. And Louboutins. " I was a little annoyed that they were last season's but I decided to hear the guy out nevertheless. Everything became a blur from the time he hit play. So many emotions. This Monarch music entered right through my ears but gunned straight for my heart strings. It took over. With a melodic sound that could easily have been mistaken for a hidden track or updated release on the Drive soundtrack, it was becoming evident why and how Ryan had been so deeply moved and connected to it. New wave synth sound coupled with vocals stripped of the autotunes of artists past; dare I say even flirting with a modern day Tears for Fears kind of vibe. When I came to I thanked Ryan for the coffee and stilettos but was like, " Listen, babe. I know this isn't going to be easy for you to hear because you're so in love with me but check it.... I can't be with you because my heart lies with someone else. I'm not in love with you. I'm in love with Monarch." I wiped his tear and left him broken on the corner. I, on the other hand, couldn't be more full with joy and love. Monarch's music has just filled a space that has been empty for longer than I care to admit and I refuse to feel bad about it. Monarch forever, Ryan never!
