Refs: Pain Goes Away

A combination of future-retro soundscapes and LED harmonics decorated by softly searing vocals and a brooding saturated presence, Refs is the result of a year of sonic collaboration between producer Zachary Andrew (Black Light Dinner Party, High Highs) and r&b virtuoso Richard Saunders. Refs introduce themselves with a 'Pain Goes Away', a standout debut which puts the NYC duo's foundation on full display- blooming chords and primal percussion; Sega Genesis daydreams and cascading vintage synths.
