The moment this song hit our inbox we knew we were in trouble. We clicked play and heard the acoustic guitar echoing behind chopped vocals edits and that was it. We had to have it. We hadn't even heard the glassy synthwork in the chorus. And by the time we heard the sublime vocal work from Lily Elise our socks had already been blown into the stratosphere ten times over.
FRENSHIP is the collaborative effort of Brett Hite and James Sunderland. And at first listen, it's clear that this LA-duo have a serious knack for penning a tune. The ear candy fades in and out at just the right time. The chattering percussion and drip-drop arpeggiation pokes in and out constantly. But even with all these production field trips, these two never lose sight of the most important part of the music - the song.
And it's absolutely fantastic.
