Marion Cotillard: Snapshot in LA (Music Video)

A PSA to marketing teams around the world: this is how you do a product placement. French actress Marion Cotillard collaborates with English electronic artist Joseph Mount (of Metronomy) to form a slow-paced track with simplistic instrumentation that gradually gains pressure and momentum until it has become something much darker than its ukulele-strumming introduction. Dior has taken the track and synced it with what is fundamentally a product placement, but does so in a way that makes no excuses for itself and is lovely to look at. The result is a visually pleasing advertisement that has strong replay value. High fashion, a femme fatale, clean-cut aesthetic and cogent cinematography… what more could you ask for?
