The irony is that she's pretty. With white/blonde hair, red lips, and piercing blue eyes Berlin's Molly Nilsson isn't anything less than stunning, but is that the point? Still, the track is soulful, dark, and languid in it's manner. Nilsson completely takes listeners off guard with her sonic embracing of who and what she is- gutsy, melancholic and effective. Without hitting us over the head with a nostalgic sense of 80s synths, Nilsson's "Ugly Girl" is visceral- as is my love for latest release.
